The rain and cold of Friday night is long gone! The weather is going to be great for the rest of the weekend. The booth is in the same spot as last year, on the south side of 39th street, close to Broadway. We are looking forward to seeing everybody!
The 2018 Prairie Village Art Show was, quite literally, a whirlwind. Friday night was perfectly lovely during the event, but we packed up quite a few of my paintings prior to leaving for the night due to forecasts of heavy thunderstorms overnight. And come through they did! Several booths were damaged - a few were completely destroyed - but my booth was untouched.
The next two days were perfect weather, though, and the crowds were great. And to top it off, I was awarded first prize for painting by the show jurors. All in all a great show and I look forward to coming back in 2019.
Another Art in the Park is in the books! It’s always so great to see all the wonderful area artists, as well as the increasing number of talented regional artists who show here as well. The great community support and turnout for the event speaks to the strength of Lawrence as a community that treasures the arts.
The 2017 Plaza Art Fair is underway! The booth is on the edge of the main section of the show, close to Brio at the corner of Nichols and Pennsylvania. Away from the crush of people just looking to get drinks, and from the noise of the main stage - which means you can pause to enjoy the art AND a conversation with the artist. Looking forward to seeing everyone!
The weekend is underway at Art Westport! We had picture perfect weather so far, and hope everyone can make it out Saturday or Sunday.
Under the tent again this year at he 2017 Brookside Art Annual. Looking forward to a great show!

As part of Lawrence Magazine's Prison Poetry Project, I (long with two other artists) was asked to make a painting inspired by one of the inmate-written poems. The poetry reading will be at 7:00 in the main conference room of the Lawrence Public Library, and an artist discussion will be held afterward. The piece will be on display at the library along with the poem for a month.
I was asked to create a piece for Phoenix Gallery's new Phoenix Underground entry space. They wanted something large (3'X6') and bright! Check out the new gallery, it's beautiful!
Come visit the studio today until 9pm and tomorrow from Noon to 5pm. There are 38 large pieces on display in the garage workshop, and we've got coffee and donuts. We are also one of a few sites open late, from 6pm to 9pm - so join us for a bonfire, a beer or a glass of wine at the bonfire! See you tonight!
Another great weekend underway in Westport! The weather is perfect for a day out. Looking forward to seeing folks!
I will be the featured artist at Cider Gallery August 26th. I am honored to have been asked to hang my work in this beautiful space, and I hope to see you there.

Another great weekend in the heart of Kansas City's entertainment district. So grateful to all those who seek out original art.
The show is up...downstairs! Tomorrow is May's Final Friday, and my solo show at the Phoenix Gallery's fantastic space below the main storefront on Mass Street is up already. Come check out the show, up through the end of June.
For the first time ever, I'm not showing at Lawrence's Art in the Park. Every year, it and the Art Annual in Brookside fall on the same weekend and with my deep ties to the Lawrence Art Guild, it was too hard not to be at Art in the Park - sometimes as the show's coordinator and always as an artist. But this year I had an opportunity to be part of one of the great art shows in the region and had a fantastic weekend. So glad to see so many KC friends, too!
Nick Wysong's Five Bar and Tables (next door to Ingredient at 8th & Mass) is not only one of the best places to spend an evening eating and drinking with friends, it's also an amazing space to show art. Hope you get a chance to see the show, up through the end of April
As I gear up for big stuff this spring (LAC Art Auction, Five Bar show, Brookside Art Annual) I had an opportunity to show work as part of this month's Final Fridays at the Bourgeois Pig. Get up close with the work starting Friday!
Come see Jen's work as part of the KC Crossroads District's last First Fridays of the year. The Jenny Wheat photography space is amazing, and will really highlight Jen's work. AND - it's a great excuse to have a fun night out!
